The requirement

Why do I need to be fingerprinted?
Under Trusted Workforce 2.0, DCSA must have a current, classifiable fingerprint on file for cleared and national security sensitive personnel in order to enroll them in the FBI’s Rap Back service, which supports continuous vetting of clearance holders.
I have been fingerprinted before. Why again?
Fingerprints taken in the past may not be usable for this enrollment. A new capture is required even if you have been fingerprinted for a clearance, an investigation, or employment previously.
How do I know this applies to me?
It applies if DCSA, your employer, or your FSO notified you to provide fingerprints for continuous vetting enrollment. If you are unsure, ask your FSO before scheduling. If you need fingerprints for another reason — a state license, a private employer, a non-DCSA program — this is not the right process.
By when do I need to complete this?
The enrollment period runs through December 30, 2026. DCSA asks that you complete your appointment by October 30, 2026 and strongly encourages you not to wait. Appointments are first come, first served, and availability will taper in November and December.

Scheduling your appointment

When can I schedule, and where?
Online scheduling opens Wednesday, August 12, 2026, and the first appointments are available Monday, August 17, 2026. Book at dcsa.applicantservices.com. If your company has arranged an on-site enrollment event, your FSO will give you a separate scheduling link.
What do I bring to my appointment?
Bring two non-expired IDs. At least one must be a government-issued photo ID. Plus your appointment confirmation, either printed or on your phone. For the complete list of accepted documents see Acceptable ID Documents.
How long does the appointment take?
Most appointments take about 15 minutes. Please arrive on time — late arrivals may need to rebook.
Is there any cost to me?
No. DCSA covers the cost of your enrollment under this program up to the December 30, 2026 program end date.
I need to change or cancel my appointment.
Use Reschedule in the Appointments panel of your Dashboard. Your enrollment information is kept — you simply pick a new location, date and time.
Why do I not see an option to cancel my appointment?
Each enrollment is designed to have an active appointment so that your enrollment can continue moving through the process. Canceling an appointment without scheduling another one would leave the enrollment incomplete and without a clear next step.
If you are unable to attend your current appointment, use the Reschedule option instead. Rescheduling allows you to select a different location, date, or time while keeping your enrollment active and moving forward.
In short: if your plans change, you do not need to cancel your appointment. Simply reschedule it for a location, date, and time that works better for you.
How do I edit my entered personal details after scheduling?
Navigate to your Dashboard on the website and click on your appointment in the enrollments section in order to open it. From here click the Edit All button to make edits to this information (e.g. date of birth, hair color, name, etc).

If you cannot find an appointment

There are no appointments available near me.
Appointments are released on a rolling basis and filled first come, first served. If nothing is available near you today, check the portal again over the following days — new appointments are added as additional capacity opens.
Availability is tightest in the Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia corridor and in the Huntsville, Alabama area. If you are in one of those areas, book as early as you can and keep checking.
There is no enrollment location within a reasonable distance of me.
Tell your FSO. Where a location has enough personnel and no nearby site, an on-site enrollment event may be arranged. Your FSO submits that request — individual applicants do not. You can also browse all sites on the Ink Fingerprint Locations page.
Do not use any other fingerprinting service
Fingerprints taken anywhere else — another vendor, a police department, your own company's equipment, or any other product sold on the enrollment provider's website — will not satisfy this DCSA requirement and will not be paid for by DCSA. You must enroll through the DCSA program described on this page.

After your appointment

What happens to my fingerprints?
They are submitted for enrollment in the FBI’s Rap Back service in support of DCSA continuous vetting. They are not used for any other purpose.
Who to contact

Two places to ask, depending on the question.
